Despite the challenges faced in the country, the people of Isoko, an ethnic group from Delta State, have called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the survival of Nigeria.
While speaking on Sunday after a thanksgiving service at the Transformation Bible Faith Ministry in Minna as part of activities to mark a successful year for Isoko people living in Niger State, the President of the Isoko Development Union, Niger State branch, Godwin Enih, said there is no need for Nigerians to complain but to be thankful to God for keeping the country as one.
Enih said: “We are a people from Delta State and we have been in the North for so many years.
“There has not been any crisis or reason for us to fret.
“The people of Niger State are so friendly and it is a liberal state.
“We are thanking God for Nigeria, our leaders, especially Mr. President, the Governors, lawmakers, the judiciary, the Isoko nation and of course the media.
“We want to call on all Nigerians to always pray for this country and be thankful to God for sustaining us despite the challenges.”
Enih however called on President Muhammadu Buhari to remain resolute in fixing all deplorable roads, electricity and people have access to portable water.
He added that the only solution for Nigerian leaders to succeed is to turn to God for intervention and not rely on Nigeria’s resources, saying: “God is our only source.”
In his message, the senior cleric of the church, Pastor Emmanuel Ohere, charged all tribes in the country to imbibe the act of thanksgiving.
According to Ohere: “Ungratefulness is worse than cancer.
“Anyone who is in a tribal meeting or association must emulate the attitude of the Isoko people on how to appreciate God.
“The more we thank God, the better we become as a people.”
