A former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, has denied reports he had concluded arrangements to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.
The media was awash on Tuesday morning with the news that Orubebe was leading the PDP to join “his folks” in the APC.
Bu Orubebe told The Punch in a telephone interview that he was contemplating no such move.
He described himself as “a proud and committed member” of the PDP.
He said he was in agreement with President Goodluck Jonathan that the PDP must be reorganised.
He said he was contemplating taking those who published the story to court.
Orubebe told The Punch: “It is not true that I am leaving the PDP for APC; it is not true and it cannot be true.
“I am taking the online media, who have published the story, to court.
“I am a core PDP member.
“I am with my oga (President Goodluck Jonathan) and we are planning to reorganise the PDP to make it a party of unification.”
