Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State on Tuesday sent the Kwara State Public- Private Partnership Bill, 2015 to the state House of Assembly.
The Speaker, Razak Atunwa, disclosed the governor’s request in a letter to the House read on the floor during Tuesday’s plenary.
Ahmed, in the message, said the bill was aimed at achieving more development of infrastructure in the state.
He urged the House to give the bill an accelerated hearing in view of its importance.
The speaker committed the bill to the House Committee on Business and Rules for further consideration.
The speaker, while speaking on the just concluded general elections, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for conducting free, fair and credible elections.
Atunwa, who emerged as the new member representing llorin West/Asa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said that the elections were largely devoid of violence.
He particularly praised INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, for initiating the use of card reader, noting that it reduced fraud and electoral malpractices.
Atunwa said he was happy to report to the House that the All Progressives Congress recorded total victory in all the polls in the state.
The speaker also commended the security agencies for keeping to their professional ethics when preventing violence during the elections.
He congratulated winners in the elections, especially members of the House who would return and those heading for the National Assembly.
