The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has won in 18 out of the 23 local government areas of Osun State, whose results have been collated in the election held on Saturday.
The Eagle Online recalls that Osun State has 30 local government areas, thus leaving seven LGAs yet to be collated.
According to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday, the All Progressives Congress, with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as presidential candidate, came a distant second, winning in five LGAs.
According to the INEC, former Vice President Abubakar has won in Boluwaduro, Ifedayo, Ila, Odo-Otin, Irepodun, Orolu, Ede-North, Ede-South, Ife-South, Ife-North, Ola-Oluwa, Ayedire Obokun, Oriade, Atakumosa-East, Atakumosa-West, Egbedore, Ilesa-East and Ilesa-West LGAs.
For Tinubu, he took Osogbo, Olorunda, Ife-Central, Ife-East and Boripe LGAs.
The Returning Officer of the INEC for the state, Professor Tolulope Ogunsola of the University of Lagos, has received and confirmed the results.
