The Association of Power Generation Companies has denied conniving with Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company to inflate the monthly invoices presented to the Electricity Distributing Companies.
A statement by APGC’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Joy Ogaji, in Abuja on Monday said that the GenCos were not aware of any such practice in the sector.
The Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors had at a news conference by its Executive Secretary, Sunday Oduntan, accused the GenCos and NBET of lack of transparency in the invoices presented to the DisCos.
Oduntan had said the capacity charge by the GENCOs should be equal to the quantum of energy presented the DisCos for distribution.
He had alleged that GENCOs inflated invoices, which resulted in an increase in capacity charges that did not reflect in the energy supplied.
To this end, Ogaji said although the GenCos did not hold brief for NBET, it expected NBET to also respond to the allegation as soon as possible.
