A former governorship aspirant of the National Conscience party, Ogbeni Lanre Banjo, has expressed his congratulations to the Akarigbo-elect of Remo, Prince Tunde Ajayi, and the people of Sagamu and Remo specifically and Ogun State in general on the peaceful selection of Prince Ajayi as the next Akarigbo of Ijebu Remo.
Ogbeni Banjo prays to God to guide, direct the new King to lead Sagamu and the thirty-three Kings in Remo Kingdom and he also enjoined the prince to shun political maneuriving that are geared towards dismantling traditional institutions
He said: “Ogbeni Banjo beseeches you to join principled Obas to use the traditional institution to restore their dignity by appreciating their rightful place in the society for national growth. Please do not roll-over when politicians scheme to adulterate our tradition, sow a seed of discord and create future crisis. Ogbeni Banjo implores Prince Ajayi to emulate the good works of exemplary Obas in Yoruba land and learn from the mistakes of the previous Akarigbos. Ogbeni Banjo prays that the Akarigbo-elect would dedicate himself to building on and surpassing the worthy legacies of his predecessors, and working with the businesses in Remo and other traditional rulers across the country to foster greater harmony, peaceful co-existence and faster socio-economic development of Sagamites and all Nigerians.”
Ogbeni Banjo also commended the administration of Ibikunle Amosun, the governor of the state, for playing the role of a good umpire by ensuring a free selection process and he also enjoined all and sundry to assist the new ruler to ensure that the progress of the community is achieved.
