In a press statement issued in Abeokuta on Monday and signed by the Publicity Secretary of the Ogun APC Caretaker Committee. Tunde Oladunjoye, the death of Dr. Emmanuel Adesanya Abiodun, was described as “most painful and a huge loss to the family of the deceased and indeed, Ogun State as a whole.”

Opeoluwa Adekoya, Ijebu Ode Divisional Commander of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), told the News Agency of Nigeria in Ota, that the accident occurred around 30 p.m. at Imepe area of the ancient town.

PDP chairman in the state, Sikirulai Ogundele, said in a statement on Thursday that the decision followed a judgment of an Ogun State High Court, in a suit between him and the State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC).

The event has created a new atmosphere in the town which is now wearing a sporting look as youths are seen in preparation for the 21kilometres race competition, initiated by the Ogun State Government.

Akande-Sadipe said that if rehabilitated, the 25-kilometre Olomi-Ijebu Igbo road and the 35-kilometre stretch of Liberty Academy road, which connects Oyo State with neighbouring Ogun State, would stimulate economic activities, attract local and foreign investment, improve the quality of road network and reduce the hardship on her constituents.
