The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, on Tuesday, lost his father, Alhaji Sulaiman Obasa.
It was learnt that Pa Obasa died in the early hours of Tuesday at 83.
The Speaker made this known in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele, in Lagos on Tuesday.
Obasa described his father as a loving family man and a respected community leader.
According to the Speaker, his late father was a successful businessman with business concerns in oil and gas and transportation sectors.
He added that he was also reputed for his success in farming, through which he empowered many people.
“He is a devout Muslim and dedicated his life to the service of Allah and mankind ,taking care of the needy and the less privileged,” Obasa noted.
The speaker said his remains would be interred at 4.00 p.m. in Agege area of the state, according to Islamic rites.
The Secretary of the Orile Agege Local Council Development Area chapter of the All Progressives Congress, who doubles as the Special Adviser to the Speaker on Political and Legislative Affairs, Fatai Olagoke Ajibola, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday
According to the statement, the late Obasa would be buried today according to Islamic rites.

“Late Alhaji Obasa will be buried this evening (Tuesday) in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
“The venue of the Janazah prayer will be communicated in due course,” Ajibola added.
