The Super Eagles’ new kits for the Russia 2018 World Cup were unveiled by sports manufacturers, Nike, in London on Wednesday.
The jerseys feature the home kits that pay tribute to the 1994 squad, which they wore during the USA ’94 World Cup qualifiers.
Alex Iwobi and Sophia Omidiji were among the models at the unveiling.
The Eagles will wear the jerseys for the first time on March 23 when they face Poland in a friendly in Warsaw before the commencement of their World Cup campaign against Croatia at the Kaliningrad Stadium on June 16.
“A constant in Nigeria is an endearing love of football,” NFF President Amaju Pinnick, told Nike’s official website. “When football is on, everything stops. The new Nike kit designs honour our federation’s rich traditions. Moreover, they celebrate everything we relish about our culture.”
Meanwhile, Super Eagles skipper Mikel Obi and Iwobi have reacted to the new Super Eagles World Cup kit.
In a YouTube video, the duo of Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi also showered praises on their new jerseys unveiled in London on Wednesday.
The video captured Mikel as saying: “This is Nigerian. I see the players going crazy for this one,” with Iheanacho, at the sight of the jerseys shown to them, adding that it was beautiful.
Ndidi reacted by saying: “Lovely, this is nice. The fans are going to love this one.”
Iwobi said it was perfect and different.
Former Eagles player Mutiu Adepoju added his voice to the new design by saying: “It is a yes, yes for me.”
Through his twitter handle, @mutiuadepoju8, he added: “The kit reminds us of our jersey in USA 1994. Believe me, this kit could be our lucky charm in Russia.”
