COVID-19, the-one-of-a kind virus that has shut down the world, quieted our rat race for validation, shooed us into our manholes, denied us our freedom, destroyed global economy, fragmented our relationships, polarised the races and threw us in recurring anxiety and panic mode is now showing the bestial face of its aftermath. Global rebelliousness against lockdown is growing. Especially in Asia and most of African nations where social security is a distant dream. In Nigeria, the combination of corruption, social, economic and mental poverty have all fused together into a collective defiance against the lock up – not lockdown – order.
The Army and other security forces have returned back to their prehensile and jungle nature. What they need to complete their new animal nature is just the tail. All the cannons of decency, dignity, courtesy and respect for the rights of all Nigerians have been put under suspended animation in order to enforce a suicidal lock up of 200 million hungry and powerless people. All the instruments of containment, fear and harm are placed in the hands of sadists, bloodthirsty, illiterate, violent, brutal and lawless army of occupation who have been terrorising and dehumanising Nigerians since the out outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
The homicidal tendencies of our security forces is not new. COVID-19 stay at home compliance only managed to open up a Pandora box of their reckless embrace of battle front violence against helpless Nigerians who are already tired, hungry, neglected, abandoned and pulverised by a Federal Government that has no clue in any national emergency. All over the social media, viral videos of first degree ferocious brutality were everywhere. They were all PG13 grade – with parental warning due to its graphic nature. Daily, our soldiers and the police slip deeper and deeper into the barbaric chasm of their own making – from their evil minds.
What kind of nation is Nigeria? Why are we full of savagery? Are we under violence-enabled military rule? Why is our nation so violent? What manner of people are given security uniforms in Nigeria? Are they sane? Why all these Draculan thirst for blood? Why do they answer to a show of force rather than respect, courtesy and tact when dealing with poor, helpless and powerless Nigerians? COVID-19 is a reputation wrecker. It is an economic wrecker.
It is a bulldozer virus that has flattened the superstructure of the social, economic, political and financial foundation of the world as we know it since the Second World War.
Yet, its ongoing aftermath in Nigeria has been converted into a war game where our army are allowed to use horse whip freely, smash heads, damage limbs, cause havoc, maim and kill. Rather than use diplomacy to smother wider discontents or fissure caused by COVID-19 against Nigerians, they turned them into victims of oppression, barbaric brutality and inhumane mistreatment. A white woman in US, in a viral video, was moved to anger and warned that the whole world is watching our human rights abuses on helpless and innocent Nigerians. The question is, who let these hounds of hell out of their shithole to foment so much damage on Nigeria’s image? Who gave the order to these smug barbarians to go out there and enforce COVID-19 lock up order with punch ups, slaps, kicks, assault, battery, press ups and beatings?
Our security forces are a menace – to themselves and to the wider public. The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, has so many explanations to give for the brutal activities of his men and women. The army has a lot to explain regarding the atrocious behaviour of our soldiers. This madness has to stop.
Moving on, COVID-19 ongoing aftermath is being felt also in unlikely places among unlikely people with unlikely trade. From the brothel of Amsterdam to the seedy olosho hideouts of Ajegunle, prostitutes are waging a war of libido starvation across the world. In India they came out with flashing boobs and hairy vaginas to call for an end to COVID-19 lockdown. Delivery men in US and Europe are being seduced on doorsteps by lonely honeys asking them to have a quickie before the next assignment.
In Nigeria, videos are emerging of women lamenting that cucumbers are no longer finding their thrusting ways into their melons. Side chicks are in sorrow at the absence of sugar daddies who are all under forced lockdown. Hotels are quiet. Creaky hotel beds are quiet. No more pounding fireworks to make the bed groan, bark and grumble. Sex starved wives before the lockdown are now complaining that the lockdown has turned their men into sex predators. They want an end to COVID-19 lockdown.
Into all these gut-wrenching inanities are the avalanche of COVID-19 conspiracy theories. Microsoft super conductor, Bill Gate and Melinda his wife are now the awaited Anti-Christ who is said to be working assiduously to a genocidal script to wipe out the black race with a deadly vaccine. Wuhan the original home of COVID-19 has been pardoned, discharged and acquitted.
Corona virus and its arch villain COVID-19, so the conspiracy goes, are actually emanation from the radiation of the 5G telecommunication technology. They said that 5G has radioactive materials that are lethal to human lungs and immune system and thus mutate faster in the body into a killer virus. Scientologists, scientists, chemists, biochemists, seers, diviners, babalawos, pastors are all adding their voices to the already babel of wild theories behind the COVID-19 pandemic.
In another of its ongoing aftermath, wealth, riches, private jets, big mansions in Abuja, Dubai, Durban, UK and US is now a fool’s game. COVID-19 has shown us that material acquisition is useless – a chasing after the wind. The truth is striving to find fulfilment apart from God will prove futile. We can never accumulate enough. Go and ask the jester-politician called Dino Melaye.
Today, Dino is a finding fulfilment as a mocking evangelist, dancer and whistleblower. We now find ourselves living in time in which we desperately need answers outside the range of human possibilities. Our energy, power, resources, intelligence and wisdom have all been exerted to breaking points by the ravaging and merciless demands of COVID-19 and its demons. We don’t know where to turn for answers. Sadly, COVID-19 happened in a world of fake news that is daily assisted by spin and message control that further frustrates humanity all the way. We are not there yet, but are still looking for ways to cut through the babel of digital and social media noises on the cause of COVID-19.
