The Federal Capital Territory and seven states of the Federation accounted for the 212 new cases of Coronavirus Disease in the country on Friday.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced this in an update on the pandemic on its Twitter handle on Friday.
According to the lead agency in the battle against the virus on Friday, Lagos State accounted for 85 of the fresh 212 cases.
It was followed by Oyo State with 72 infections, while the FCT recorded 21 new cases.
Ogun and Plateau States accounted for 11 cases each, while Katsina, Kaduna and Osun State had six, five and one respectively.
In all as at Friday night, the country had recorded 61,194 confirmed cases since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country, while 52,304 had been successfully treated and discharged.
So far, 1,119 deaths had been recorded from the virus in the country.
