The Senate on Tuesday resolved to review the 2020 Budget downward as a result of outbreak of Coronavirus across the globe.
The National Assembly had last year passed the National Budget of N10.5 trillion.
The lawmakers agreed to reduce the 2020 Budget following the presentation and consideration of Interim Report of its Joint Committee on Finance, Appropriation, National Planning and Economic Affairs and Petroleum Resources (Upstream), Chaired by Senator Adeola Olamilekan.
Presenting the report, the Chairman of the Joint Committee also called on revenue generating agencies to be alive to their responsibility.
The Senate also agreed to continue to engage the Joint Committee on a regular basis so as to keep them abreast of the current ongoing in the Executive Arm in line with the Nine-Man Committee setup by the President.
