It was an unusual sight on Tuesday when the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, met at the Lagos House in Marina.
Tinubu was at the Lagos House for a meeting with Sanwo-Olu over the rising case of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in the state and how the Lagos State Government was handling it.
As at the time of Tinubu’s visit, the number of confirmed cases in Lagos was 29.
However, instead of the usual handshake, both men did the elbow shake.
This was in observance of the need to avoid contact with the hands as recommended.
COVID-19 is believed to spread faster when an infected hand is put on the face.
Also engaged in the elbow handshake with Tinubu were the Commissioner, Lagos State Police Command, Hakeem Odumosu; and the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi.
