The need for the Church to imbibe the culture of prudence management of resources and ensure decency of all her activities has again been emphasized.
The Provincial Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Jos, Most Rev. Dr.Benjamin Kwashi, made this call at the dedication and launching of books on corporate management for church leaders and executives.
The books were authored by Ado Noma.
Kwashi stressed that the crimes associated with many church leaders today were the challenges of inadequate financial management and mistrust, emphasizing, however, the need for church leaders to always ensure records-keeping.
Making reference from the book of 1 Corinthians 14: 37-40, the archbishop said the Bible is one of such documents the apostles of God used in recording all the happenings of the word .
He said the responsibility of church leaders is not just to preach, speak in tongue but to be decent in all ramifications, both in time and prudent management.
He, however, commended the author of the books for conceptualizing such a wonderful idea to share with the people his experiences, saying this will go a long way in correcting some of the ills in the church and the public at large.
Earlier, Noma had said he was inspired to putting down his experience for people to read and know that something was still wrong in the church system of administration.
He said in the books, he has carefully selected essential points that will guide the church against undue crises that might arise due to administrative lapses.
In his closing remark, the President of the Church of Christ in Nations, Rev. Dachollom Datiri, described the author as a trail blazer and an experienced manager.
Datiri said as an authority, he is confident that those words of experience package together would renew the people’s minds positively and change the church and nation for the better.
