Embattled Senator Dino Melaye has finally surrendered to the Police after eight days of holing up in his Maitama residence in Abuja.
The Eagle Online learnt that Melaye surrendered to the Police in company of yet to be identified lawmakers on Friday in Abuja.
The police, who arrived Melaye’s residence last week Friday, had vowed not to leave without arresting him.
He was accused of culpable homicide, an allegation he denied.
The Eagle Online learnt that Melaye is at present at the head office of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Abuja.
Investigation further revealed that Melaye was taken to Police headquarters after he demanded to see Inspector General Police, Ibrahim Idris.
But when this was not possible, he was taken to the FSARS office.
A convoy of the Nigerian Police Force and over 70 police officers have taken Senator Dino Melaye from his house in Maitama to the Police Headquarters.
