The Senate on Tuesday began the confirmation of appointments of the members of the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission.
On the list, Dr. Pius Odubu was designated as the Chairman.
The appointment was contained in a letter forwarded to the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, by President Muhammadu Buhari, dated October 18, 2019.
According to the letter: “In accordance with the provision of section 2(2)(a) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) (Establishment) Act, 2000, I write to forward for confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria….”
Others appointed are Bernard Okumagba (Managing Director), Engr. Otobong Ndem (Executive Director, Projects), Maxwell Oko (Executive Director, Finance and Admin), Prophet Jones Erie (Delta Rep), Chief Victor Ekhator (Edo Rep), Dr. Joy Nunieh (Rivers Rep).
Also on the list of members are Nwogu Nwogu (Abia), Theodore Allison (Bayelsa), Victor Antai (Akwa Ibom), Maurice Effiwat (Cross River), Olugbenga Edema (Ondo), Hon. Uchegbu Kyrian (Imo), Aisha Muhammed (Kano), Shuaibu Zubairu (North East Rep), Shuaibu Zubairu (North East Rep) and Ambassador Abdullahi Bage (North Central).
