The Auditor General while submitting the report to the Clerk of the National Assembly, Amos Ojo Olatunde, lamented that his office is incapacitated in so many ways from functioning effectively and efficiently as far as detection of mismanagement of public funds by the various Ministries , Departments and Agencies ( MDAs) , is concerned and invariably , potent war against corruption.

Lawan joined other distinguished Senators, his family members, friends and political associates in celebrating the joyous occasion with his deputy whom he described as “a worthy son of Urhobo and great representative of Delta Central Senatorial District.”

Even the unscrupulous critics agree that electronic transmission of election results is not only strategic in strengthening and deepening democracy but in vogue, the world over. Among others, it confers legitimacy on elections sequel to inherent transparency and also encourages massive participation following the ease and convenience it delivers. And quite instructively, it does not replace but complements the usual physical transmission, thus implying that combination of both guarantees the infallibility of the results.
