An eclipse of the sun has been reported in Kano State.
The report on X, formerly Twitter, was made by a user: Ahmad EO Abdulbaqi, who backed it up with a photograph.
There was also an eclipse of the sun in parts of Oyo State, which The Eagle Online could not confirm as at press time.
A solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, casting a shadow on Earth that either fully or partially blocks the Sun’s light in some areas.

The world is expected to witness an eclipse of the sun on April 8, 2024 (today).
According to the Indian Standard Time, the total solar eclipse will begin at 9:12pm on April 8, totality will start at 10:08pm, and will end on April 9, 2024 at 2:22 am.
The Pacific coast of Mexico will experience totality first, around 11:07am PDT, and the occurrence will leave Maine at around 1:30pm PDT.
