Members of the dreaded sect, Islamist militants of the Jama’atu Ahli Sunna lid Da’awati wal Jihad, popularly known as Boko Haram, struck again in Kano today, with casualty figures still unknown as at press time.
This time around, it was at a police station in Sharada, on the outskirts of the town.
Sharada is located in the Kano Industrial Area.
Sources said that the members of the sect attacked the police station with bombs and guns.
It was learnt that soldiers and policemen responded swiftly to the attack.
As at press time, it was learnt that the exchange of gunfire was still on.
There were also reports from Maiduguri, Borno State that the sect also went on rampage this evening.
Several explosions reportedly occurred in the city.
The concentration of the bombs was said to be in the market in the metropolis.
Maiduguri is believed to be the headquarters of Boko Haram.
