The representative, Borno Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Ahmed Zannah, has instituted a N5 billion suit against the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice and the spokesperson of the Joint Task Force in Borno State, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa.
The suit, filed before an Abuja High Court, is to demand for damages for defamation of character by Zanna, who was accused of having links with members of the dreaded sect, Boko Haram.
It was filed on his behalf by Gbenga Olagundoye.
Zannah said Musa, at a news conference, used defamatory words against him.
Musa had at the news conference said that the JTF arrested a Boko Haram commander in a senator’s house in Borno State.
Zanna was later invited for questioning by the State Security Service because the description given by Musa at the news conference matched his.
