Governor Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa flagged off his re-election campaign ahead of the 2019 general elections on Monday in Guri Local Government Council of the state.
Speaking at the flag-off, Badaru urged the electorate to come out en masse to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress.
He said: “I want all of you to ensure that you keep your voter cards safely; your voter card is your power.
“Vote for APC so that we will continue to develop agriculture, youth empowerment, health and education.
“We will ensure that all projects that have direct bearing to your lives are completed.”
In his speech, the Deputy Governor and senatorial candidate for Jigawa Northeast, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, thanked the electorate for their mandate.
He expressed optimism that the achievements of Governor Badaru would facilitate his victory in the forthcoming polls.
NAN reports that the flag-off was attended by APC chieftains including Badaru’s running mate, Alhaji Umar Namadi as well as Alhaji Farouk Adamu-Aliyu.
Others include former governor Ali Sa’ad Birnin-Kudu as well as former deputy governor and Director General of Badaru Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Ahmad Mahmoud-Gumel.
