Some five assailants, operating in the cover of night, have killed a member of the National Youth Service Corps, Samaila Awudu.
Our Correspondent learnt that the assailants killed the 28-year-old Corps member in the early hours of Friday.
He was said to have been killed at his lodge in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
Samaila, who was said to be from Taraba State, was doing his national service in Adamawa State.
The armed assailants stormed the lodge and attacked the Corps member, wounding him, it was said.
He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, not far off, but died soon afterwards.
A Corps member at the Yolde Pate Lodge said the killers locked up all the doors of the other Lodge residents before going to Samaila’s room, hitting him with an axe and left him for dead.
The state NYSC Director, Jingi Dennis, and police spokesman, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident.
“The Adamawa State Police Command is already carrying out investigation to find out those behind this killing,” Nguroje said.
