All Progressives Congress stakeholders in Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa State have passed Vote of No Confidence on the local government party chairman, Mallam Jibrin Ali Ganjari.
The stakeholders, who stormed the state’s party secretariat in Yola to register their resolution, accused the chairman of corrupt practices, indiscipline and anti-party activities.
The spokesman of the stakeholders, Alhaji Adamu Ahmed, said the chairman had diverted most of the the bags of rice and sugar sent by the party for members during the just-concluded Ramadan fasting.
Ahmed said the chairman also exhibited acts of indiscipline by attempting to physically assault the lawmaker representing the area in the State Assembly at the residence of the Deputy Governor in Ganye.
He said also the chairman held secret meetings with members of the opposition in area.
He said: “We are tired of him.
“He is destroying the party and something needs to be done if our party is to win the coming and approaching local government election in the state.”
Receiving the stakeholders, the State Vice chairman of the APC, Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi, lauded them for the orderly conduct in presenting their grievance and assured them that the party would look into the matter.
Reacting to the development, the embattled Chairman, Jibrin Ali Ganjari, said the allegations were baseless.
Ganjari said he did not divert rice and sugar, but set up a committee to handle the disbursement.
He said: “My exco and entire ward chairmen that ought to know better are not complaining, showing that the so-called stakeholders have a hidden agenda or are doing a hatchet job.”
