Over 50 persons, including a pastor with the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, have been killed in fresh attacks in Adamawa State, Saturday PUNCH is reporting.
According to the highly authoritative newspaper, the killings were carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen believed to have launched the attack from a village in Taraba State on Thursday night.
Villages attacked, according to the newspaper included Gon, Nzumosu, Bolki, Nyanga and Bukuto, all in Numan Local Government Area of the state.
Three of the villages attacked were reported to have been razed by the assailants.
The attackers were said to have operated without any resistance.
The newspaper quoted the lawmaker representing Numan in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Sodom Tayedi, as decrying the incessant attacks by suspected herdsmen.
Tayedi equally expressed anger over the perceived reluctance of the military to contain the insecurity in the area.
