American heavyweight Jarrell Miller has publicly called out unified world champion Anthony Joshua for a fight in 2019.
The unbeaten, outspoken contender believes his British rival “needs” him in order to make a splash stateside next year, and insists he will conquer AJ whenever they do share a ring.
When asked if he thinks he’ll be able to beat Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury, Miller told H&J on talkSPORT: “Think? I know I can beat them.
“Those guys are averaging about 240lbs, maybe averaging 35/40 punches a round. I’m averaging 75/80 punches a round at 320lbs.
“I’m a big dude, I carry the weight very well and I fight very well.
“All styles make great fights and ‘Big Baby’s’ here.
“He needs to fight in America.
“He comes to New York, I’m gonna give him a Brooklyn beatdown.”
The famously gigantic heavyweight regularly weighs upwards of 22 stone for his bouts and overwhelms his opponents with his sheer size and strength.
He is yet to be fully tested and matched against a world class contender, but believes he might not necessarily need to do so in order to secure a world title opportunity.
Miller thinks Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury will likely rematch next, leaving Anthony Joshua with few other options for his next outing.
“We’re in a great position,” Miller continued. “If Chisora can get the win over Dillian Whyte, AJ needs me more than I need him at this point
“Who else is gonna fight for April? He hasn’t come to American soil yet, so he needs somebody to step in the ring with him.
“He needs me. He needs to come to the USA if he wants to be considered a world champion.
“If he comes to New York, I’mma give him a Brooklyn beat down.”
