Ahmed swears in Khadis

The Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, has sworn in a new Grand Khadi for the state.
He is Justice Solihu Olohuntoyin Muhammed.
Ahmed also swore in a Khadi, Justice Abdulraheem Ibrahim.
This came with a charge from the governor that judicial officers should strengthen judicial process in the state for the good of the common man.
Governor Ahmed, who identified equity, justice and adherence to the rule of law as solutions to the socio-economic and security challenges in the country, said: “Once, we adopt, imbibe and strictly implement these time-tested values, most of the problems confronting our country will be overcome.”
Ahmed promised that his administration would not spare any effort in its justice sector reform, which he noted was yielding desired results.
He said this was in line with his administration’s belief that justice is fundamental to peace and tranquillity and growth in any society.
The governor advised Nigerians to remain vigilant and guard their votes jealously. According to him: “Nigerians must resist any attempt to coerce or frustrate popular will through violence as other means.
“Guard you votes for they represent your tool for securing the leadership that will better your lives.”
Speaking earlier, the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kamaldeen Ajibade, clarified that appointment of judges or Khadis was not statutorily based on seniority of office as such appointees must meet “statutory requisite qualifications and experience subject to availability of vacancy and without undue pref‎erence for hierarchy of office or bureaucratic, which over time has been causing unwarranted hues and cries and disaffection in the system.”
Muhammed, in his speech, pledged the determination of the judiciary to enhance the quality of judicial process in the state.
