The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, on Friday visited the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos State to inspect the ongoing repair works there.
However, newsmen, who had converged on the College with the hope of joining Abubakar on the inspection tour, were prevented from doing so.
The journalists, who arrived at the College at about 1:30pm, had to wait until about 5pm when Abubakar arrived to get the shocker that they would not be allowed to join the inspection team.
Worse still, after undertaking the inspection, Abubakar refused to speak with the news hounds.
The College had come under scrutiny when a news report on Channels Television showed the decay in the training facility of the police.
The hostels were in a state of disrepair and the fund spent on feeding the trainees found to be ridiculously low.
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who visited the College after the report, however, castigated the news television station for doing such a report.
