Nigeria’s Atlanta Olympic gold medalist, Chioma Ajunwa, unveiled her foundation to the public in Lagos on Tuesday.
The retired athlete, who is also a police officer, said the Foundation had been her dream and a project she was bent in actualizing prior to her retirement from the sport as she felt she owed the country one.
Ajunwa said: “I am unveiling my foundation because is a dream that have nurtured for a long time.
“And seeing it come to reality today, gladdens my heart.
“I see it as my own way of giving back to the society.
“I intend to catch them young, budding talents, grooming them to stardom.
“The foundation will offer the platform for Nigeria to discover new Ajunwas, Mary Onyalis and so on.”
