A Nigerian flag carrier, Air Peace, on Thursday, announced that its Abuja-Lagos flight made an emergency return due to a bird strike
A bird strike refers to the collision between an airborne animal, typically a bird, and a moving vehicle or aircraft in flight, during take-off, or while landing.
Such incidents can cause significant damage to aircraft and potentially lead to safety hazards.
In a statement, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace, disclosed that a replacement aircraft had been deployed to minimize disruption.

“We wish to inform our esteemed passengers that our Abuja-Lagos 06:30 flight experienced a bird strike before take-off, prompting a return to the ramp as a safety measure. All passengers disembarked normally.
“We have deployed a replacement aircraft for the affected flight to ensure passengers continue their journeys promptly.
“We appeal for the understanding of our valued passengers impacted by this development, as well as those on other flights that may experience delays,” the statement read.
The airline reaffirmed its commitment to safe, comfortable, and reliable air travel for all passengers.
