No fewer than 20 persons have died in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State following the outbreak cholera in the area.
The Eagle Online gathered on tuesday that 32 persons, who were also infected by the outbreak of the cholera epidemic, are receiving medical attention in the hospital.
Report said this was the number of persons that had been confirmed dead or hospitalised after the second day of the outbreak of the disease.
The Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Emmanuel Loman, who only confirmed five persons dead, said the 32 hospitalized are responding to treatment.
According to Loman, the council has put in place measures to ensure that medical personnel were on ground to take care of the victim.
He said the council has also put in place a sensitization programme for the people to ensure that they wash their hands and fruits before eating.
It was learnt that 20 cases were recorded in the local government headquarters.
