A 41-year-old man, Austine Achioye, was on Monday docked in a Badagry Magistrates’ Court for allegedly threatening to a businessman, Chukwodo Ogbodo.
Achioye is charged with threat to life.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Clement Okuiomose told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb.8,, at about 2 p.m at ‘F’ Line, Alaba International Market, Ojo area of Lagos.
Okuiomose said that the defendant threatened to kill Ogbodo in his shop.
He said that the defendant was held down by other shop owners, who later handed him over to the police.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 56 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Fadahunsi Adefioye, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N400,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adefioye adjourned the case until April 5, for mention.
