The Lagos State Police Command has killed two armed robbers in the state.
The killing of the robbers took place on Wednesday following the receipt of a distress call that a group of armed robbers numbering about seven on motorcycles were sighted entering Alhaji Gafaru street, Imude Road and attempted to rob the residents of Gafaru Street.
Upon receipt of the information, the Police Anti Robbery Squad and Metro Patrol Teams were drafted to the scene.
On sighting the Police, the Armed robbers opened fire but were subdued by the superior fire power of the gallant teams.
Two suspects: Semiu Ibrahim, 24, and Francis Obi, 29, were arrested, while Chinozo Felix, aka Power, 29, and Ifeanyi Uche were killed.
Three Berreta Pistols with three live ammunition and three expended ammunition were recovered.
One unregistered Bajaj Motorcycle was also recovered from the scene.
Before the arrival of Police, the robbers shot Obina Efenkandu, 32, of 124, Imude Gafaru Bus Stop, who died on the spot, while Collins Ichu, 26, of the same address, and Abdullah Niger, 40, of Imude Street sustained injuries.
The injured persons were taken to hospital and receiving treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Zubairu Muazu, reiterated the Command’s readiness to deal decisively with criminal elements in the State and continue to make Lagos State a difficult place for criminal activities.
