The All Progressives Congress women and youths presidential campaign team has unveiled its campaign strategy for the success of its candidate in the forthcoming presidential election.
The chairman of the media and strategic communications subcommittee of the team, Hon. Abdulmumini Jubril, made the announcement on Monday while addressing newsmen in Abuja.
The campaign strategy was tagged: “Operation sweep the polling units’’.
Jubril said the team would embark on a door-to-door campaign to ensure the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February Presidential election.
He said the group intended to use the existing structure of the party in each of the electoral wards of the country to galvanise support for the president’s re-election.
Jubril commended the effort of wife of the president Aisha Buhari, for initiating the women and youths wing of the APC presidential campaign.
He said: “I wish to commend the wife of the president Aisha Buhari for the revolution she brought into the political arena because she recognise the role of women and youths in political campaigns in Nigeria.
“This is unprecedented because this is the first time in the history of this country that a specialised campaign that targets only women and youths has been conceived and implemented.”
He said APC campaign groups were satisfied with the leadership style of President Buhari, especially his commitment to the corruption fight, insurgency, as well as with his social investment programme.
Jubril, who represents Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State, called on Nigerian youths to support the re-election bid of President Buhari.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, was appointed by the party to chair the Women and Youths Presidential Campaign team for the 2019 election.
NAN also reports that the wife of the Vice-President, Dolapo Osinbajo, was appointed as the Co-chairman of the campaign team, which is expected to campaign vigorously for the success of the party in the forthcoming presidential election.
