Hull City of England have been told to up their bid to West Bromwich Albion for Peter Odemwingie.
Hull are interested but Albion are still holding out for over £3 million.
WBA boss, Steve Clarke, said: “It is not a charity.”
Odemwingie was omitted from WBA’s squad on Sunday for their final game against Manchester United and he is likely to be left out of the Baggies pre-season trip to Austria where they will battle German Bundesliga side, Hannover 96, in a friendly on July 18.
It can be recalled that the striker added to his unpopularity at Albion by moaning in the dressing room after the 4-0 defeat to Norwich.
The Baggies held an inquest after the loss and outspoken Odemwingie, 31, is understood to have slammed his team-mates.
