Officials on Friday said no fewer than 9,276 participants from the 36 states and FCT are expected to take part in the 2018 National Youth Games in Ilorin from September 7 to September 17.
According to the Grassroot Sports Development Committee in the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, on Friday, each state will be represented by 218 athletes.
The event, in its fourth edition will feature Canoeing/Rowing and Roller Skating as demonstration sports with 20 entries for both events.
Meanwhile, Para-Athletics, Para-Table Tennis, Para-Powerlifting would be making a debut at the championship with a total of eight entries.
Aside the above sports, 27 others comprised of seven team events will be staged at the University of Ilorin, who has hosted the event’s two previous editions.
Team Delta emerged overall winners of the previous edition in Ilorin.
