500 kids for Minna Basketball clinics

No fewer than 500 children have been drawn from across the 25 Local Government Areas of Niger State to take part in this year’s Basketball clinic in Minna. Their ages range from five to 15 years.
It is the 5th edition of the annual Jomirota basketball clinic and billed to commence on Thursday, November 28th.
The venue of the Clinic, the ultra modern sport complex in Minna is now wearing a new look while all the facilities have been given face-lift.
The annual Jomirota Basketball clinic is being organized by a United States-based charity and non-governmental organization “Time out 4Africa” with the sole aim of catching them young in the game of basketball.
The Director of time out 4Africa, Mr. Jonathan Kolo, had this to say, “the activities lined up for the three days clinic include 3 on 3 competitions, free throw, 3 pointers and instructional clinic. Round for all competitions will begin on Thursday.
This year’s edition, Kolo disclosed is in memory of his late father Ambassador James Kolo who died last year.
He also said an ultra-modern basketball court built by “time out 4 African” at the cost of N1.4million and donated to a private school in Minna, will be commissioned.
In its bid to develop the game of basketball, Kolo assured that more of such basketball courts would be built across the state.
At the end of the Clinic, participants would go home with prizes such as trophy, basketball kits and over 500 T-shirts and Jerseys including basketball.
