The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Sunday levelled allegations of shooting of his aide and stealing of results against the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 governorship election in the state, Dr. Dakuku Peterside.
In a terse statement and photograph made available by his media aide, Simeon Nwaka, Wike said Peterside’s security aides shot the aide to his Chief of Staff at UTC Junction in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The name of the aide was however not given and the spot where the bullet hit him did not reflect in the accompanying photograph.
The terse statement said the aide was shot as “Peterside fled with stolen results from Ikwerre LGA”.
