The remains of wife of retired Anglican Archbishop of Ondo Province and Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, Mrs. Janet Olufunmilayo Abosede Abe, JP, (Nee Omojuyigbe) will be committed to mother earth on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Iju, Akure North Local Government area of Ondo State.
Late Mrs Abe, died after a brief illness on March 9, 2014 at the age of 70. In her lifetime, God used her as a trained nurse to restore the health of thousands of people. She also assisted her husband in his pastoral assignment to facilitate the spiritual and physical growth of the church. She was known for her amiable disposition, discipline and love for people.
Activities marking her funeral will run in four days, consecutively. According to the spokesperson of the family, Dr. Dele Omojuyigbe of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos, there will be a commendation service and a service of songs on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the Archbishop’s house in Ado Ekiti. On Friday, April 18, 2014, there will be Christian wake-keep and lying-in-state at the St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Iju. Funeral service and interment will hold at the St Stephen’s Anglican Church Iju, on Saturday, April 19, 2014. A thanksgiving service will hold on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Iju. Mrs Abe is survived by husband, The Most Rev. (Dr.) Samuel Adedayo Abe, retired Anglican Archbishop of Ondo Province and Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, children and siblings.
