The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 20-year-old housewife, Caroline Barka, for stabbing her 38-year-old husband, Dauda Barka, to death.
The suspect, a resident of Angwan Tsamiya, Madagali Local Government Area, was arrested on July 22, 2022 by the police.
Barka was said to have engaged her deceased husband in a fight following his constant drunkenness.
In the instant fight, he was said to have returned home drunk and fell on their one-year-old baby on the bed.
Provoked by his negligence and lack of maintenance generally, the suspect engaged in fighting him, as a result of whic, she stabbed him with a sharp knife.
The deceased was rushed to the Government Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a Medical Doctor.
The spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed the development.
Nguroje said Barka had since been arrested and undergoing investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department in line with the directive of the Command’s Commissioner, S.K. Akande.
While commending the relatives of the suspect in promptly reporting the incident to the Police, CP Akande assured the family and relations of the deceased that justice will be done.
He said as soon as investigation is concluded, the suspect will properly be prosecuted.
