Well remain in control of South West – ACN

The Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria has said that the party is in a better position to solidify its hold on the entire South West with its spectacular performance in the governance of the zone.
The party therefore describes the boast by those it called disoriented people who have declared their intent to form parties to wrestle the South West out of the grip of the ACN.
The ACN said they were mere dreamers who have no political clout to win even their local governments in any election in the region.
In a statement on Monday by its Lagos State Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe, the party said that such boasts were not strange as the same characters behind the present one have been on such wild adventure since the ACN got to the lofty political height it is presently occupying in the South West.
It said that building political castles in the air against a party that is performing so creditably to the satisfaction of the people of the South West is a futile hallucination that will end in smokes as previous ones.
Igbokwe said in the statement: “We know that the present crop of political dreamers are drawing strength from the pecuniary accruals they are drawing from the PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) federal establishment but we want to assure them that such mercenary approach to politics is not new to the South West.
“We know where these previous adventures ended and we are sure the present adventure will end in a more disastrous manner given the spectacular performance of the ACN governments in the various states.
“We proudly state that the stellar performance of the ACN has justified our campaign promises and the expectations of the entire South Westerners even as these political day dreamers struggle to deny the obvious so as to remain relevant.
“We note and state with pride that the performance of the ACN across the lengths and breadth of South West has banished the sad dent that was PDP imposition in the region between 2003 and 2007 and 2011.
“We want to state without equivocation that the entire South West is solidly united in the ACN, as it gradually melds with other progressive parties to form APC.
“The entire South West knows that its interests are well protected in the ACN and they have implicit confidence in the leaders of the ACN to protect and guard their interests.
“We know that remains the reason why the region votes en mass for the ACN, to the envy and fear of the PDP and its allies that struggle to forge an identity with which to lay a vacuous claim to the region.
“We assure them that they are investing in the winds as no people or race leaves a place where their interests are fully protected to places where deception and other forms of subterfuge are employed to take advantage of them.
“The experience of the region between 2003 and 2007 is still raw in the minds of the region to bear repetition soon after the South West did away with the PDP nuisance.
“That the PDP is shedding its toga and engaging political mercenaries to aid its comeback bid in the region is not lost on us but we assure them that they will fail more woefully this time around.
“Lagos ACN urges the people of the South West to remain firm and unflinching in their support as the shameless party that has wrecked Nigeria for fourteen years and wrecked the South West between 2003 and 2007 and 2011 employs its agents to seek the stealing of the region using these paid agent provocateurs to cause confusion.
“We want to assure them that the South West governments are firmly in control and will ensure these empty boasts are consigned to the dung heaps of our history, as they have been so far.
“We assure that our governors will do with this by continuing to deliver to the satisfaction of the people while PDP and allies struggle to deny these achievements, as they are doing at present.”
