Wada may be flown to Germany, plus photograph of vehicle

There were indications on Saturday that the injured Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada, may be flown to Germany for further treatment.
It was learnt that the Presidency was making arrangements to move Wada out of Nigeria for further and better treatment once his condition is considered stable enough to travel.
Wada was involved in an accident on Friday along the Lokoja-Ajaokuta Highway.
His ADC, Idris Mohammed, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, died on the spot in the accident.
Sources in the Presidency told The Eagle Online that President Goodluck Jonathan is deeply concerned about the condition of the injured governor.
Jonathan is said to be monitoring Wada and as soon as the doctors declare him fit to travel he would be flown out.
The source said the likely destination will be Germany.
The Governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai, who was also involved in an accident, is receiving treatment in Germany.
Suntai was involved in a air mishap in which he was the pilot.
But the Medical Director of Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja, where Mr. Wada is receiving treatment, Dr. Felix Ogedegbe, said the governor may not need to go abroad for further treatment.
Ogedegbe said Wada has been successfully treated and suffered not life threatening injuries that could require his treatment abroad.
In the first official reaction of the Kogi State Government media apparatus to the accident, the condition of Wada was described as stable.
Wada’s special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Jacob Edi, said “The convoy of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Ichalla Wada has been involved in a ghastly accident. The Governor survived the road mishap and is in stable condition. Sadly however, the governor’s Aide de Camp ADC,Idris Mohamed, an Assistant Superintendent of Police died on the spot.
“The accident occurred Friday afternoon at Emi Woro Village, about 12 kilometres into the state capital, in between Prime Polytechnic and Salem University, in Ajaokuta Local Government. The convoy was returning from an annual Igala Education Summit which the Governor declared opened at the state university in Anyigba.”
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has lamented the ghastly auto crash involving Wada and his entourage.
Amosun condoled with the government and people of Kogi State on the incident.
In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Funmi Wakama, Amosun described the accident as unfortunate, especially coming on the heels of the regrettable death of Governor Patrick Yakowa and ex-National Security Adviser, General Owoye Azazi, in a helicopter crash.
The governor wished Captain Idris Wada and others involved in the accident a speedy recovery and prayed for the repose of the soul of the late ADC.
