Louis van Gaal’s long-term future as Manchester United manager has been placed in further doubt after the club completely omitted him from a promotional video about the club’s summer pre-season tour.
The Dutchman’s reign at Old Trafford has been under scrutiny for much of the season, and former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly being lined up to take over at the end of the season.
United are sixth in the Premier League and recently exited the Europa League to arch-rivals Liverpool, although they are still fighting in the FA Cup.
Van Gaal, 64, who will enter the last year of his contract this summer, was not included once in United’s 48-second video about their International Champions Cup double-header against rivals Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund later this year.
The club’s video for last summer’s tour to the United States did feature the Dutchman prominently.
