Nigeria’s Under 23 Eagles, otherwise known as the Olympic Eagles, have been drawn against Sudan in the final round of the U23 AFCON 2019 qualifiers.
The Imama Amapakabo tutored team defeated Libya 4-2 on aggregate and they have been seeded to face Sudan who will become their last opponent to the CAF U-23 African Nations Cup, which kicks off November this year in Egypt.
Sudan hold Kenya to a goalless draw after inflicting a 2-0 defeat on the Kenya’s emerging stars which helped them advance on aggregate scoreline.
The Nigerian team will jet out to Khartoum, Sudan on June 5 for the first leg of the series, while they host the Sudanese in the return leg four days later in Nigeria.
The winner will book the ticket to the eight-team tournament in Egypt.
Nigeria is the defending champion after winning the tournament in 2015 in Senegal.
