Twitter has announced some new features and programs that it is launching to support professionals on the social media platform.
Twitter dropped this hint in a statement to give details on its plan.
In the past year, you’ve heard Twitter talk a lot about professionals – a word we use to describe the community of users who come to Twitter for business, for their livelihood. Professionals are developers, content creators, small business owners, non-profits and even big brands who come to Twitter to drive success for their business.
We’ve been introducing tools designed specifically for this community with the goal of empowering professionals to drive successful business outcomes. And this week – as you’ll see in the blog post – we’re announcing a few new features and educational programs for professionals that demonstrate our focus on building tools for them and giving them the education on how to best leverage those tools to fulfill their business goals.
One of the biggest updates you’ll see in the blog is about one of the first products we introduced specifically for professionals: the Location Spotlight, a feature that allows professionals with physical business locations to display their business address, hours of operation, and additional contact methods at the top of their profile. Previously called the “About Module,” we introduced this feature in 2021 to a select group in the U.S. We’ve continued to scale it since then and today, among the other updates outlined in the blog, all professionals around the globe can add the Location Spotlight to the profile.
Professionals already come to Twitter to promote their businesses, find their customers, and achieve business results. Free, easy-to-use features like the Location Spotlight help create a pathway that can take a customer from discovering a business on Twitter to patronizing it. It’s convenient for customers and we believe it can help drive business success for professionals.
