A top member of the Kano Emirate Council and the Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Tijjani Hashim, is dead.
Alhaji Tijjani Mailafiya, the Special Adviser to Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso of Kano State on Emirate Council, confirmed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Kano.
Mailafiya said that Hashim, 82, who left Kano on Friday for Abuja in preparation for a medical trip abroad, died in a hospital in Abuja on Monday morning.
The special adviser said: “The corpse has left Abuja and will arrive Kano anytime from now for the funeral prayer.”
Mailafiya said the corpse would be taken to his house in Kano before the funeral prayer, which would be held at the Emir’s palace around 2pm.
The deceased left behind three wives and 13 children – six males and seven females.
