The Director of Sports (DOS), Lagos State, Dr. Kweku Tandoh has been appointed as Chairman of the Marketing and Sponsorship Committee of States Directors of Sports Forum.
The seven-man Committee is saddled with the responsibility of sourcing for funds to organise, on a regular basis, capacity building training and programmes for all the States Directors of Sports in the country.
Tandoh, who was the Secretary of the Local Organising Committee, LOC, of the Eko 2012 National Sports Festival, described his appointment as a call to duty, adding that he and other members of the Committee will not disappoint the confidence reposed on them by the Forum.
Meanwhile, the Executive Committee of the State Directors of Sports Forum recently paid a courtesy call on the Acting Director General (DG) of National Sports Commission (NSC) Mr. Alhazzan Yakmut in his office in Abuja.
The Forum congratulated Yakmut on his new appointment and thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for appointing a technocrat and a season sports administrator as the Acting Director General of the NSC.
The Forum, however, charged Yakmut, who was until his appointment the DIrector Grassroots Sports Development Department in the NSC, to use his wealth of experience to carry sports in Nigeria to its rightful place.
The Forum was led on the courtesy visit by its Chairman, Mr. Tunde Kazeem, who is the Director of Sports, Kwara State.Other members on the visit include the Secretary – General, Elder Kayode Adewunmi, Director of Sports, Ekiti State,Dr. Kweku Tandoh, Director of Sports, Lagos State, Dr. Alim Musa, Director of Sports, Federal Capital Territory, Usman Ladan, Director of Sports, Kebbi State and Dapar G.L, Director of Plateau State.
