The candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, won in one of the local governments.

Declaring the result in Saminaka, the Returning Officer, Prof. Adamu Wada, said Mannir scored 34,958 votes to defeat his closest contender, Ibrahim Usman of the Peoples Democratic Party, who scored 16,271 votes.
The All Progressives Congress candidate was re-elected after polling 22,002 votes, according to LASIEC.

Ubah, who was cleared by the YPP national leadership in Abuja, allayed the fears of Nigerians that the South-East crisis would disrupt the election coming up in November this year.
Inaugurating the facility on Tuesday in Awka, Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah (Young Progressives Party (YPP)-Anambra South) said the donation was the second facility to be constructed and donated by the group.
