According to a statement by the Force spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP, in company with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Faruk Yahaya; GOC 1 Div of the Nigerian Army; Deputy Commissioner of Police, CID, Kaduna State Command, and other senior officers, arrived at the scene at about 1201hrs for on-the-spot assessment. It said the visit and assessment of the scene will avail the security agencies with relevant first-hand information on the incident necessary for rejigging operational strategy to come up with a robust action plan for the prevention of a reoccurrence.
The State’s Commissioner of Police CP Adesina Soyemi presented the cheques on behalf of IGP, urging the deceased (officers’) families to use the money wisely.
The IGP directed that the distributed items must get to every member of the Inspectorate cadre and other ranks of the Force in furtherance of the Force Management’s zeal to boost the welfare of police personnel and improve their condition of service.
The call was made amid its resolutions on a motion entitled, “urgent need to check the alarming trend of inhuman treatment and torture of Nigerian citizens by foreign nationals in the country.”
In a statement on Thursday by Force PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the FIB-STS equally recovered a total of eight (8) foreign and seven (7) locally made AK47 rifles, eight (8) revolver rifles, two thousand two hundred (2,200) rounds of live ammunition of different calibres, twelve (14) AK47 magazines, three (3) stolen cars, 10 fake number plates and a cash sum of one million, eight hundred and eighty thousand (1,880,000) naira from the suspects during follow-up investigations.

IGP gave the advice when he and members of the Force management paid condolence visit to late Egbunike’s family at his Abuja residence.
He has also condoled the family of the late police officer.
