In line with his family welfare gesture, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba has presented the cheque of N6, 500,000 to the families of police officers who died while in line of duty in Nasarawa State, North Central Nigeria.
The State’s Commissioner of Police CP Adesina Soyemi presented the cheques on behalf of IGP, urging the deceased (officers’) families to use the money wisely.
A statement signed by the State’s Command Public Relations Officers, ASP Ramhan Nansel said Soyemi confirmed that the sum of (#6,500,000) was presented to 14 families of deceased Police officers who died in the line of duty.
Nansel stated: The gesture is in line with the initiative of the Inspector-General of Police “IGP family welfare” aimed at giving succour to the family of Police officers who died in active service. Furthermore, the gesture is aimed at spurring officers’ to greatness while discharging their statutory duties with the assurance that, their welfare is of paramount importance to the Administration of the Force”.
While presenting the cheques, CP Soyemi thanked the IGP for his relentless efforts towards ensuring good welfare package for personnel of the Force and urged the beneficiaries to use the money wisely by investing in a profitable venture that would in turn, ameliorate the needs of the dependents left behind.
The families thanked the police boss and pledged to make good use of the money.
