In the suit Number FHC/OS/CS/44/2020 filed by the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and Associated Institution (NASU), the union prayed the court to compel the EFCC to investigate and prosecute the VC of the institution, Professor Labode Popoola over mismanaged funds belonging to the university among other corrupt practices as contained in its petition to the commission.

The university commenced its Medical and Dental Council’s programme in 2007 with full accreditation by National Universities Commission, but the programme was suspended in May 2012 due to inability of the University to meet the Medical and Dental Council’s accreditation requirements to provide a Teaching Hospital for student’s clinical training.
Students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and Osun State University, Osogbo, both in Osun State have been told to vacate their campuses and go back to their homes as the branches of the Academic Staff Union of University in OAU and UNIOSUN on Tuesday joined the nationwide strike declared by the national body of the union.
The Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council of the University, Gafar Adebayo Shittu, in a press statement in Osogbo, the state capital, on Friday said the Senate of the University reviewed the circumstances surrounding the closure of the University on May 28, 2018 and approved the reopening of the university for academic activities on June 4, 2018.
The statement recalled that 98 students who were stranded were originally planned for but 87 of them eventually made it to Ukraine because parents of the other remaining students had secured other options for their children.
The appointment follows the recommendation by the Council of the institution, which was signed and forwarded to the Visitor by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council, Yusuf Ali (SAN), after considering the report of the Selection Board
